Debating a Repetitive Cycle

Poverty and inequality has existed since the inception of the societal framework. Cultural anachronisms were in the pursuit of luxuries only benefitting the few while the many were made to amass it for them. The few were clever enough to debate this misaligned distribution of public resources in order to fool the many into thinking that they cared. And even if they cared, they were not willing to get their trousers dirty for the sake of the exploited.
Superiority or the enhancement of an idea of power or control has always been man’s longing. We clawed our way to the top of the food chain not through our physical prowess but through our ingenuity. This has shown our inherent weakness rather than strength. We are not strong enough to stand toe to toe with mother nature yet we claim to. Humans live in a dream world where if one can not show superiority then one is not worth any degree of respect. The only creature on the planet us humans are superior to are ourselves. Therefore in this inherent realization of our own limitations, we exert control over our fellow humans. We are unwilling to let go of this control because then we will have to the face the reality of our existence.
Poverty and inequality is ever more prevalent now than it was during the times when men were considered to be gods. Although international institutions claim to be fighting this social evil, their struggle is based on relativity and not absolutes. And even when they succeed they push people into inequality rather than a fair and equal standard of existence.

Academics can debate all they want and claim success. But even if the belly of the hungry are moderately filled, their hearts are still longing for a better share of a planet that belongs to all of us.
